EYES ON TEXAS
In our humble opinion Texas is the most interesting State in the Union. The Eyes on Texas website will show you  plenty of examples of what makes Texas such an interesting and unique state.

Six Flags Over TexasSIX FLAGS OVER TEXAS
We've been to Six Flags in Arlington a couple times. There were many good photo opportunities. And opportunities to get wet which we didn't like all that much. We made it on only one of the Six Flags roller coasters, that being the best wooden roller coaster in the world, known as the Texas Giant. Go here to watch some videos of a few Six Flags rides, including the Texas Giant, plus a walk around the park.

The Kemah Boardwalk is the Houston Area's Theme Park.

Beavers Bend & Broken Bow Lake in OklahomaOKLAHOMA
Heading to Oklahoma? Looking for some fishing, swimming and boating in crystal clear water? Try visiting Beavers Bend Resort Park & Broken Bow Lake in south eastern Oklahoma. Not been to the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees before? It's got great fishing and 1,300 miles of shoreline. And then there's Lake Texoma, a huge lake shared by Texas and Oklahoma, famous for its bass and catfish. Climb to the top of Oklahoma at Black Mesa State Park & Nature Preserve. Or visit the waterfall oasis of Natural Falls State Park.

In Oklahoma, just a mile past the Texas border you'll find WinStar World Casino, allegedly the World's biggest casino.  A few miles further north you'll find Riverwind Casino, with the biggest buffet in Oklahoma. And just a few miles east of Lake Texoma, 15 miles north of the Oklahoma/Texas border you'll find Choctaw Casino Resot & Hotel.  A few miles north of Wichita Falls you will find Kiowa Red River Casino

AMARILLO
Beautiful sunsets, free steak if you can manage to eat 72 ounces in an hour. Close to Palo Duro Canyon and the Texas outdoor amphitheater show. A section of old Route 66 in all its nostalgic glory, the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, Wonderland Amusement Park and Cadillac Ranch are just a few of the things you'll find in classically Texan, Amarillo.

TEXAS CHRISTMAS

We visited Oakland Lake Park in Fort Worth recently.
Take a look for yourself.
Also, go to Tandy Hills Park and get a look at Prairie Fest.

Read what we found out about America's Team after reading ridiculous articles about that subject in the Saturday, January 12, 2008 Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

GREAT PARKS IN THE D/FW METROPLEX
White Rock Lake Park in DallasRecently we focused our Eyes on a couple of parks in the D/FW Metroplex, Veterans Park in Arlington and White Rock Lake Park in Dallas. These are very good parks, but our favorite remains River Legacy Park in Arlington. On New Year's Day, 2008 we hiked Tandy Hills Park in Fort Worth. Tandy Hills Parks is very wild place just a short distance from a less wild place, Fort Worth's Downtown. Also near Tandy Hills Park is Oakland Lake Park, another hidden gem..

WENCHES GONE MAD

Our visit to Scarborough Faire Renaissance Festival near Waxahachie was entertaining and fun, or so we thought. We webpaged our experience after which an avalanche of umbrage erupted that was very amusing, for the most part, and ended up Scarborough Faire Renaissance Festival with us being invited by officials of the Houston Renaissance Festival to document their faire in the same way. We have yet to do so though. It's a long drive to the Houston area.

TURNER FALLS PARK

Year after year after year our most visited webpage is not something located in Texas. It is a park in Oklahoma, Turner Falls Park. Turner Falls ParkFor short periods other pages may be #1, like in March it will be the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup, in July #1 will be the Parker County Peach Festival, in September it's the Texas State Fair, but most months Turner Falls Park in Oklahoma is our most visited webpage, at the height of summer getting thousands of visits a month. It is a very scenic, very fun park, even if it isn't in Texas.

FORT WORTH GAS

Fort Worth is experimenting with being the first large city in America, maybe in the entire world, to allow gas drilling within Barnett Shale Reserve in Texas Explosion.its borders, often very close to where people live, endangering water supplies, vegetation, peace and quiet and human life. None of the wells have exploded yet in Fort Worth. A few have in surrounding areas. Citizens are starting to fight back. Take a look at our nearby gas neighbor and see if you'd like this in your backyard.

Dallas Farmers Market

Visitors from the Pacific Northwest always remark that this Dallas location reminds them of Seattle's Pike Place Market.
