TEXAS TRAVEL INFORMATION CENTERS

That is the Laredo Texas Travel Information Center on the left. The Texas Department of Transportation runs 12 Travel Information Centers at key locations across Texas. 

The Travel Information Centers are staffed by uniformed, professional travel counselors who welcome visitors with a Big Texas Howdy, while providing traveling tourists Texas Travel Guides, Texas Maps, Brochures covering all sorts of information, from Texas Trail Guides to help you explore the Heritage of Texas, via the Texas Heritage Trails Program, like the Texas Lakes Trail, the Texas Plains Trail, the Texas Mountain Trail, the Texas Tropical Trail and Six other Texas Trails that you can learn more about by visiting a Texas Travel Information Center or the Texas Heritage Trails website.

The Travel Center counselors will help you plan your Texas Trip, helping with directions, pointing you to attractions along the way that you won't want to miss. For instance if you are heading to Fredericksburg, for Oktoberfest, the counselor might suggest that you visit Enchanted Rock or possibly drive the Devil's Backbone on your way to San Marcos.

After you tell the Travel Center counselor what you'd like to see and where you want to go in Texas they will help you locate Travel Guides, Maps and Brochures to help with directions, finding points of interest, attractions and recreational locations along your route.

All Texas Travel Information Center services are free of charge. Including free Wi-Fi (Wireless Internet Service) at the Travel Information Centers and at all Texas Safety Rest Areas.
