Bedford Labor Day Blues & BBQ Festival 
City: Bedford 
Music lovers with an appetite for tasty blues and mouth-watering barbecue will find the 2010 City of Bedford Labor Day Blues & BBQ Festival a feast for the senses. The two-day event returns Sept. 4-5 with blues legends Robert Cray and Taj Mahal and an $8,000 barbecue cook-off. West Texas Fair & Rodeo 

City: Abilene 
Includes exhibits, rodeo, livestock shows and a carnival. Parade is 10:30 a.m. Sept. 6 in historic downtown Abilene.  

 Annual National Championship Powwow

Features colorful tribal dance contests, arts & crafts, cultural heritage demonstrations, teepees and Indian food.

Bartlett Friendship Festival
City: Bartlett 
Bartlett comes to life in September with it's Friendship Festival. There are activities for all ages. When the schedule permits the Bartlett Bulldogs have a home game on Friday night and B-B-Q cookers begin setting up for the sanctioned competition. On Saturday the fun begins with a parade featuring bands, horses, floats, bicycles, motorcycles, farm equipment, 4x4s, antique cars, clowns and more.

Main Street Second Saturday – Marshall Music Festival Kick Off
City: Marshall
9:00 AM – 10:00 PM. 
Free admission. Along North Washington Street, Downtown Marshall, Texas.
Vendors selling anything from pink tools, clothing, cell phone accessories, homemade crafts and jewelry, and even insurance information! Various musicians will perform along North Washington as well as at a few venues in walking distance. Flights of Our Fathers Fly-In
City: Terrell
Cost: $5-$10
The BFTS Museum is hosting a Fly-In to honor the WWII British pilots who trained here and the American officers and civilians who assisted with that training. This year the theme will include a salute to veterans of all branches of the services, recognizing the honor and valor of our fallen service men and women, and including the ultimate sacrifice of five young men from the City of Terrell.
