Rose Hill Memorial Burial Park
7301 East Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth Texas
Directions to
Lee Harvey Oswald's Grave
Whichever way you enter the Rose Hill Memorial Burial
Park, find your way to the western edge of the park. You will see a
chain link fence and a public road outside of the fence with houses
along the road. Notice markings on the curb, white stencil on green, on
which sections of the cemetery are named. You are looking for
Sunset
18
There is a small mausoleum named Shannon at the
fork in the road. When you find this you are within a few feet of your
goal. Lee Harvey Oswald's grave is on the side of the road towards the
row of houses. The grave is about 20 feet from the cemetery road. You
cannot miss it. It is reddish colored, next to a grave marked Nick Beef.
No other graves are adjacent to Oswald's.
It seems a bit odd, regardless of the controversy and
the crime, that the grave of a person as notorious as Lee Harvey
Oswald would be so nondescript. Rose Hill officials will not tell an
inquirer where the grave is located. No historical marker references
the location. There are no close neighbors to Oswald in the cemetery.
Except for Nick Beef. We have been unable to find out who Nick Beef
was*, or why he is buried so close to Oswald.
EMAIL FEEDBACK I am Gary Cox. I have two brothers
who died when they where babies. They are buried not 10 feet away from Lee Harvey Oswald. One brother is Earl Frank Cox and the other one is Larry Don Cox.
After you have found Lee Harvey Oswald's
Gravesite you can exit Rose Hill Memorial Burial Park and head west on
Lancaster Avenue. A couple blocks before you reach the 820 Freeway, on
the right side of the road, in the Urban Village of Handley, you will
find The Ozzie Rabbit Lodge. Ozzie Rabbit was Oswald's nickname while in
the army.
I found your website and used the directions on how to get to Oswald's gravesite. Thank you so much for posting. I went there last week and just wanted to let you know the green markings with white stenciling on the curbs are worn down, covered with leaves and debris and hard to find. You list him buried in section Sunset 18, but he is actually buried in Fairlawn 17. Your directions are perfect for heading to the western edge along the chain link fence, drive to the pink granite mausoleum marked "Shannon" in gold and park right behind it. Go to the left toward the chain link fence, look for a gravestone marked "Skelton", should be right next to the road where you parked. Oswald's grave is diagonal to the right of that Skelton grave. Maybe you can add that to your website. Just thought I'd help.

Hello....
I used your website to locate Oswald's gravesite this afternoon.
(11/ 28, 2003) Just wanted to thank you for the info.
Thanks, yours are from a
different time of year and from what may be the 40th
Anniversary of the first time Oswald was buried. We used a
couple of your photos. Viewable by clicking here,
or the link above.
The name "Nick Beef" appears on a headstone near the grave of
Lee Harvey Oswald. JFK Researcher Barb Junkkarinen offers the following explanation that first appeared in a newsgroup post:
"According to the folks in the black suits at the cemetery office, Nick Beef is the stage name of a comedian who bought the plot and had a headstone with that name installed. In his act, he apparently tells people that if they want to find Oswald's grave (which info the cemetery office will not give out)...just ask for Nick Beef instead and you will find Oswald. Only thing is...now they won't tell people where Nick Beef's grave is either! Once the cemetery folks realized a group of us (Arthur and Margaret Snyder, Bill Hamley, and myself) who were out there already knew where Oswald's grave was and were just curious about Nick Beef, they told us the story. Of additional
note...Marguerite (Oswald's mother) is buried on the other side of Oswald.... sans headstone."
