We get a lot of questions via email asking questions about things that we've no idea why the emailer would think we would be the source of an answer. Ironically, we often to have the answer. The past week 5 people asked questions about the personalized Texas "It's Like a Whole Other Country" license plate. With a little effort we found out how one goes about getting a personalized Texas License Plate. You will find that information below. | ||

1. How can I personalize my "It's Like A Whole Other Country." license plate? The "It's Like A Whole Other Country" plate has an annual fee of $30 per year. Yes. If your vehicle is currently registered when the license plate is issued, your vehicle registration expiration date will be adjusted by TxDOT to match the expiration date of the special license plates. If needed, added fees will be collected or credit issued to make an adjustment. 5. What do I do when I pick up my new plate? You turn in your current windshield validation sticker and get a new windshield validation sticker. You
also pay your regular annual vehicle registration fee. Proof of financial responsibility, such as a liability insurance card is also required at this time.
7. Can I transfer my license plate to another vehicle? For information about the transfer of specialty license plates, contact your county tax office. 8. When will I receive my "It's Like A Whole Other Country" license plate? It will take 2 to 3 weeks for the plates to be made from the time the order is
approved by TxDOT. If the plates have already been manufactured at the time of your order,
you should be able to pick them up within two weeks of TxDOT's receipt of your order. You will be notified by mail when your plates are ready for you to pick up from the office of your local county tax
assessor. Call the Texas Department of Transportation customer help desk at 512-465-7611 or your county tax office. |
