MOODY GARDENS IN GALVESTON


Moody Gardens is a very large tourist complex featuring as its main attractions 3 pyramids, the Aquarium Pyramid, the Rain Forest Pyramid and the Discovery Pyramid. The Aquarium Pyramid is on of the largest aquariums in the world. The Rain Forest Pyramid contains a tropical jungle while the Discovery Pyramid contains science exhibits from around the world.

The causeway across Galveston Bay on Interstate 45. If you squint and look real hard you can see the pyramids of Moody Gardens.

Here we see the 3 pyramids. The blue one is the Aquarium, the clear one is the Rain Forest, the reddish on is the Discovery Pyramid.

Moody Gardens is a lush jungle of beautiful landscaping. In addition to the pyramids there is a hotel, a convention center, a sandy swimming beach called Palm Beach, freshwater lagoons,, a paddle wheel cruise boat, a research clinic, a Viet Nam War Memorial, a 3-D Imax Theater, A motion simulator ride and the red jogging trail you see here.

A closer look at the Rain Forest Pyramid. This pyramid is about 10 stories high. Inside are rainforest animals like ocelots and two-toed sloths. And bat caves. To make the jungle even more realistic there are waterfalls, huge trees and uncaged butterflies.
