A poem from Otto Slotemaker

This 'poem' was sent by Otto Slotemaker to his mother, Tillie, in February of 1952. In the poem Otto makes reference to his dad, John Slotemaker's, penchant for writing poetry. This poem from Otto is an announcement of several things. A move to a new house. A Valentine's greeting. A weather report. And notice that a drive north for a visit would take place in the coming weeks. Otto also makes clear he has no pretensions of being a poet, saying "I am not a poet, and we all know it..." After reading Otto's 'poem' one might conclude that regarding poetry Otto Ott Not, but this is still an interesting look at the humor of Otto over 50 years after this 'poem' was sent to his mother.
