You will find Rusk, Texas, in Cherokee County, at the point where Texas State Highways 94 and 69 cross paths. Palestine is about 30 miles to the west on Highway 84. In Palestine you will find the Palestine unit of Rusk/Palestine State Park. Tyler is some 40 miles north of Rush, via Highway 69. The northern fringes of Davy Crockett National Forest are about 15 miles south of Rusk. Rusk is approximately 140 miles southeast of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Houston is 160 miles south. Rusk is 225 miles northeast of Austin and 110 miles southwest of Shreveport, Louisiana. |
